Hi, I’m Kate! I’m passionate about bringing creative ideas to life and helping people thrive.

I’m one of those rare blends of both creative and organized. As a kid I made my own clothes AND cleaned my friends’ rooms for fun. It’s basically been that way ever since.

I’ve worked in the creative industry since 2004. Prior to founding Kate Sullivan Creative, LLC in 2024, I served in senior leadership positions as Global Head of Creative Operations at HubSpot and VP of Creative Operations at Pandora/SiriusXM, where at both I led teams executing high profile video, audio, dev, copy and design work with marketing, brand, content and executive partners. My strategic team leadership approach was to bridge the efficiency of operations with a commitment to strengthening team collaboration—always with a deep care for people. Considered an early expert in the field, I’ve shared my perspective presenting at numerous conferences.

Getting my start in nonfiction media, I produced for The Al Franken Show, a live daily radio show on Air America Radio, including two seasons for television and serving as tour manager for over 50 live shows at venues across the country, including the National Conventions, Election Night, SXSW and Sundance—helping immensely in reaching my favorite fun fact which is that I’ve been to all 50 states. I’ve also produced for Al Gore’s Emmy Award-winning Current TV and XM Satellite Radio; co-ran a video production company, and worked with ITVS and Marigold Media Group promoting/distributing documentary films and series to public television, including the award-winning series, Independent Lens.

I studied sociology, education and music at Lewis and Clark College and radio journalism at The Salt Institute for Documentary Studies. In 2024, I completed Dr. Eric Maisel’s 32-week Creativity Coaching courses.

An avid creative side project enthusiast, I’ve co-created/produced two podcasts (Select Five and the original iteration of How To Be Less Old on Wolfpop/Earwolf), played guitar since the 90’s, co-directed the film screening series, Cinema Speakeasy, and dabbled in sewing - mostly for the love of textiles.

My other passions include gazing at skylines on long city walks and medium-length hikes, hearing/watching the ocean (though rarely going in), quiet mornings, wandering around museums and bookstores, rearranging pretty much anything I can, seeing shows of all sorts, playing tennis, spending time with friends and family, and raising my smart, funny, creative, beautiful daughter.
